Pet Shop Boys are an English synth-pop duo, formed in London in 1981. The brief was to create a website for merchandise and albums, this had to incorporate a new design, format and look. The brand had to be unique, clean and welcoming. Working in close collaboration with Tails Creative, we’ve reimagined the PetShopBoys online store. The site is seen world-wide.
Using graphics from the duo's album covers, the graphics were reinterpreted for colours, artworks and icons used across the site. The challenge was to create an wire-frame that simplified their current online store – while creating a confident, iconic and clean look that allowed growth in the future. We explored a wide range of creative territories. Ultimately coming back to the origins of the brand, and using that DNA to inspire an entirely new expression.
